Mom is scared & ready to GO!

Dear Mother is scared she told me again today. I can only imagine. The Hospice people have been telling me all along Mom is tough (which I knew) not scared at all and ready to go, yet when they leave I hear a completely different story from Mom. I have to admit, I am a bit selfish and not really ready to see her go. I can't image not having her around.

Today a Hospice aid came by to give Mom a really good cleaning and afterward Mom asks for me and tells me she is scared but ready to die. She says she feels so relaxed after the bed bath, please stay by me and don't leave. So I stood by her bedside holding her hand until she fell asleep. I then pulled close her lazy chair and sat there watching her. Eventually I dozed off as I am still a bit tired from the last couple nights. Two hours later I woke just in time for her Dr. Phil, but did not want to wake her. I tape it for her anyway, yet as of lately Mom can't stay awake to watch anyway.

Moral of the story I guess, ... is keep those Hospice people away from you loved ones. They make them so dam relaxed they just want to die :) Just kidding ... sometimes I don't know what I would do without some help. I was able to take a shower while the Hospice aid cleaned up Mother.

The nice lady next door Rēnē cooked me some dinner last night and baked a cake. Mom really enjoyed the cake, and I the home cooked food. Don't like to impose on her to much but I do need to buy a few groceries and she has offered to watch mom when I need to get out. So I will stop for now to get the essentials. Moms resting peacefully so Later ... Dave
