If you are going to conduct a wrestling tournament, you must be organized and, if you're going to be organized, you must have a checklist. But, a typical checklist is not enough, since we tend to leave things to the last minute, making the day or two before a tournament a time of panic! What is needed is a timeline checklist, one that indicates the dates that certain things must be done. Here is an example of one we used for the Old Bridge Wrestling Festival in New Jersey which consisted of fourteen tournaments, two camps and a 4-day, dual meet tournament of 20 high school/club teams, Some vital jobs are missing from the checklist such as getting the referees and organizing the concession stand as they have been delegated to other people - very reliable people! We put a slash through a checkbox when we begin a job and an "X" when it's completed.
By setting deadlines you can avoid the rush of last minute details and be certain that you haven't forgotten anything!
PS - the first snow usually occurs around mid-December.
