I am from the Washington, DC area and spent all of my early life on the East Coast. For the past ten years, I have lived in California, mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Now I am in Southern California and wondering why the weather is better on the East Coast.
My undergraduate years were spent in da'burgh (Pittsburgh, PA for the uncultured) at Carnegie Mellon University. There I studied the art of rowing and worked on an engineering degree in my free time.
I spent the next eight years at Stanford University working on my medical and graduate degrees while soaking in the generally techy environment. During this time, I was witness to the rise and pop of the dot.com boom and the irrationality in its shadow.
Currently I am in San Diego finishing my residency in internal medicine and soon to start my year as chief resident.
