Africa Safari
The adventures of Paul and Grace Pitzer in southern Africa July, 2005, traveling with Overseas Adventure Travel

We flew in lots of little planes from camp to camp
The view from the air was very interesting
Camp at the northern end of Kruger Park, SA
The accomodations were very nice, for tents.
Two game drives every day allowed us to see a lot.
Every evening we saw gorgeous sunsets.
This camp in the Ocavonga was all tents.
We could only take 26 lb. total luggage. That was it.
The Chobe River is north border of Botswana
There were lots of Hippos in the Chobe
We were cautious and gave them enough room.
Usually they are on land at night to eat.
We only saw two prides of lions.
They didn't seem to mind us watching them.
Warthogs are fascinating. They eat roots and tubers.
They really are ugly, up close and personal
There were many beautiful birds.
The lilacbreasted roller
There were herds of elephants of all ages.
In some areas there are too many elephants.
The African Buffalo were in very large herds.
Buffalo can be very aggressive and mean.
Elephants at sunset. Our vehicle broke down here.
The Southern Giraffe was in this area.
Giraffes have to spread legs to drink.
Visits to villages and schools were included.
