No pain, no gain! You know that's always
been my motto, and never more so than these last two weeks. Three
times last week and every day this week I have been to the gym
downstairs.
There is this fancy set of scales there
which tells you how much you weigh and how much body fat you
are carrying. So first the weight - well I was 16 stone
8 pounds when I left the UK and am now about 16 stone 1 pound.
I say 'about' because they use metric over here. I think that
this is a combination of my gym trips and the diet, which is
virtually fat free, except for the beer!
Now the body fat - well this tells me that I
am 33% fat. Healthy men should have between 10 and 25% fat, and
anything over 30% is obese. So I am 3% obese! To be honest I thought
that it would be loads more than that so I was vaguely pleased.
My first target then is to not be obese, which I guess will mean
I am just plain overweight.
