Laundry and Football

It's Saturday night in Bangkok and the whole family are knackered and have gone to bed - except me! Earlier we decided (Lisa told me) to do some washing and so I ventured down to the laundry with two loads of washing. I needed some tokens for the washing machines and dryers, and of course some washing powder so I went to the DC Mart downstairs, where they also sell cheap beer!

At Bangkok Garden there are Security Staff constantly wandering around and one of them showed me how to use the washing machine - I am sure that it would have been far quicker to read the instructions...which are in English! The Thais at Bangkok Garden are all very friendly and we started to chat as best we could. When asked where I came from I replied 'Britain', 'UK?', 'England?', 'London?'. London worked and I now come from London!

I decided to use the international male language of football - bingo! At the end of the conversation I concluded that he supports Liverpool and he concluded that I support Chelsea, although his pronounciation sounds more like Selsey! And as I used to live in Selsey, and I quite like the idea of them playing Liverpool, I'm going to stick with that.

I mustn't take the piss, so far everyone has been so nice and let's face it I don't even know if Bangkok have a football team - he even knew about West Ham!

Note to self

Buy a washing machine - laundries suck.

Watch more football - it's on telly all the time here.

Buy a bottle opener - beer tastes so much better when you can get at it.
