Well it's actually Tesco Lotus Rama, but I think
you know what sounds better. After a trip to Central Plaza,
which is the local western style shopping mall, where I bought
some sheets,
pillows and towels and probably got ripped for loads, I decided
to do Tesco.
Tesco in Bangkok is about a million miles from
Tesco in the UK. The food part is obviously very eastern - everything
is in Thai for a start - but there are a few Tesco's own brand
bits and some UK brands like Heinz.
But the best bit was upstairs - TVs, computers,
cookers, washing machines, mobile phones, clothes, kitchen knives,
bikes, shoes, computer games, table tennis bats - you name it,
it was there.
Now you might think that this is a lot less than exiting, but when
you have bugger all and all your belongings have either been sold
or put in your parents' lofts you'd be chuffed. Plus it's all dead
cheap!
So basically we now have some food, some pots
and pans, a toaster and a basketball!
