On Route 26th, 27th, 28th Dec 2010
Our epic flight had a 90 Minute stop over in Singapore, just time for the first beers of the trip - Tiger of course! Next leg to Melbourne and then the final flight to Wellington
We arrived in New Zealand at about 2pm on the 28th.. We had only managed a couple of hours sleep throughout the whole trip and both our body clocks are totally out of sync. The windy approach to Wellington woke us up a bit and was really fun, although not for the girl sitting behind us, who was terrified! Of course with the excitement of new places and sights we were both buzzing. Met Shane from Melbourne as we were boarding the last flight and shared a taxi from the airport. Once we got to the apartment and had both showered we thought we would have a short nap and then go out for some food. I awoke again at just after midnight and couldn't get back to sleep, which is why I am typing this at 3am!! We also totally failed to meet our friends - including Dave and Paula the guys whose wedding we are here for - for drinks at 8.30.......
The good news is that England have the Aussies on the ropes in Melbourne, they were 169-6 when I got up chasing an England lead of over 400, the Ashes will be retained barring some major event, so hopefully the match in Sydney will see us win them outright.
