| Love is War and this summer is the battlefield! Wales Actors’ Company present Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare A Welsh summer cannot be called complete without the thrill and warm pleasure of an evening spent under the open sky in the company of Wales Actors' Company. Wales Actors' Company productions crackle with raw energy and infectious enthusiasm. This year's production is no exception. "One of the most successful theatre companies in Wales" - Western Mail Wales Actors' Company's annual visits to castle are a mini festival in themselves; couples and families attend with picnics and a bottle of wine to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy one of Wales most successful companies producing what they do best, clear, yet inspirational productions of Shakespeare’s classics. “Forceful and compelling… the dramatic impact was irresistible” - The Stage So come along and join us for Much Ado About Nothing. Hero and Claudio are to be married in one week. They conspire with Don Pedro to set a "lover's trap" for Benedick, an arrogant confirmed bachelor, and Beatrice a head strong, cynical young women. Can they get them to stop fighting and fall in love? Meanwhile, the evil Don Jon conspires to break up the wedding by accusing Hero of infidelity. The summer and the scene are set for the war of love. “The most engaging Shakespeare you’ll see” - The Glasgow Herald Wales Actors’ Company is one of Wales' most established touring companies; now in its 19th year, its cross boundary popularity attracts novices and experts alike from all age groups. Its renowned blend of laid-back atmosphere and unpretentious presentation imbues the production with an immediacy that cannot be found elsewhere. Founded in 1985, Wales Actors' Company is a non-profit distributing professional company. Their hugely popular Wales-based castles and parks tours have seen inimitable renditions of King Lear, Hamlet, Othello, The Tempest, Cymbeline, As You Like It, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar and Twelfth Night. The Company attracts a regular audience of 10,000 people each summer with an acting style that captures the audience and draws them in. The Company gains its inspiration (its director and many of its actors) from the world famous East 15 School of Acting. The school has its roots in Joan Littlewood's famed theatre Workshop. Joan Littlewood's theatre broke new ground, reinterpreting the classics for a modern age. It was responsible for such productions as 'Oh What A lovely War". “WAC has such a strong reputation for producing first-rate theatre.” www.theatre-wales.co.uk |
