This Offbeat Glossary shows in tabular form an alphabetical list of terms commonly encountered in writings about gardening, which exclude agrochemicals, together with some offbeat but interesting ideas.

U-Gardens

Sensitive flowers which open in the morning and close in the evening. During the 1800s, these were planted in U-shaped gardens and these were called flower clocks, because people could tell the time by them:-
