This Offbeat Glossary shows in tabular form an alphabetical list of terms commonly encountered in writings about gardening, which exclude agrochemicals, together with some offbeat but interesting ideas.

DEFINITION

Diatomaceous Earth

Finely-ground skeletons of small, fossilized one-celled creatures called diatoms, which existed in the oceans.
Use as dusting agent to kill:-

gipsy moth,
codling moth,
pink boll,
weevil,
lygus bug,
twig borer,
thrips,
mites,
earwigs,
cockroach,
slugs,
adult mosquitos,
snails,
nematodes,
all flies,
corn worm and
tomato hornworm.
