This Offbeat Glossary shows in tabular form an alphabetical list of terms commonly encountered in writings about gardening, which exclude agrochemicals, together with some offbeat but interesting ideas.

Bay
(Lauris Nobilis)

Lauris Nobilis leaves eliminate weevils in stored grains such as:-

wheat,
rice,
rye,
beans,
oats and
corn.
 

Bromeliad

"Did you know you can force a bromeliad to bloom by covering it for five days with a plastic bag with an apple inside?" ( See reference 2 ). Bananas can also be used for the same purpose.
