Growing Instructions |
The soil should be slightly acid in full sun so Sandy soil mulched with 4" (100mm) deep with manure (Cow is best because it has no seeds in it) the previous autumn is best. Before sowing, clear the ground of weeds and plant debris without forking or disturbing the soil, so that a firm roothold can be obtained by the brassicas. Do not plant in the same ground for another 3 years to prevent clubroot and brassica cyste eelworm. Sow seed 3 inches (75mm) apart in drills 3 inches wide and 4 inches (100mm) deep, when the soil temperature is above 7C. Soil can be pulled up around the plant as it grows until the drill is level. |
