Loppers are a useful alternative to bowsaws and can be used to cut small branches up to 3cm to 5cm in diameter (1.2in to 2in). Many loppers are ruined by cutting thicker material. If you cannot cut through in one cut, with little effort, use a bowsaw or ratchet lopper.

Pruning Saw 38cm (15in) (Sandvik) or Silky Zubat 330mm is ideal for close or for confined tree work with a wooden handle or can be used with a 3m (3.2yd) extension pole to prune branches above 2m (2.18yd) by person standing on the ground, if the Bypass Treetop Pruner (Sandvik) on another 3m (3.2yd) extension pole will not cut it.
