The 'soft landscape' plan (trees, shrubs, bedding plants, bulbs)

As you enter the garden, move in a clockwise direction to note the location of every significant tree, shrub or plant (and the known location of any bulbs you might remember planting). Include known details, for example:

• Is it Evergreen or Deciduous?
• The colour of leaves, flowers/blossom (use the plants in the different pages of the Colour Wheel to create a coordinated flower colour scheme) or fruit
• The approximate size (height and width)
• When it flowers (by month, i.e. noting '5-7' means it flowers from May to July)

Note items that you could move (if this includes items that are already on Plans 1 and 2 then it is suggested you use a transparent overlay). For example:

 

• Greenhouse
• Patio
• Pergola
• Pond
• Shed
