Lacewing larvae suck the body juices of aphids and eat moth eggs, caterpillars, mealy bugs, scale insects and thrips

Leeks and Celery grown in alternate rows enriched woth pig or goat manure, will both benefit from the supplied potassium.

Legumes like the pea and the bean

 

Legumes take nitrogen from the air and pass it to their roots, which develop nodules which then release nitrogen into the soil. Nitrogen produces leafy growth so:-

  • Fruit trees and grape-vines appreciate peas and beans growing close by.
