Ivydene Gardens Companion Planting:
Biodynamic Preparation and Use

These Biodynamic Preparations are used at homeopathic amounts of:-

120 grams ( 4 ounces ) of 500 per acre in 5-8 gallons of water,
2 grams ( 1/10 ounce ) of 501 per acre in 10-15 gallons of water,
1 level teaspoon ( 1/16 ounce ) of each of 502-506, per hole 3 ft apart and 4.5 ft deep in the compost or manure heap,
1 teaspoonful is stirred in 3/4 gallon water for 5 minutes and then sprinkled over the compost or manure heap prior to putting on a cover.

and inserted into Manure or Compost heaps as follows:-

Insertion of herbal preparations into bottom of holes

( 3 feet apart ) in manure or compost heaps

Oak Bark

Compost heaps should not be built under conifers, because the turpentine substances retard proper fermentation. Do not build a compost heap on top of grass sod directly as this impedes fermentation. Dig out the sods and add them to the compost heap.
