Scan-Van '05 Felt in Oslo

Between trains in Oslo, I was very fortunate to spend a few hours with Kirsten Julie Smådahl, a talented and influential feltmaker in Norway.

Under Kirsten's direction, teenagers made this 64m felt frieze. Currently it is displayed in the Lillestrom Town Hall in a zigzag. After display & a reception, it will be cut & sold. The year 1022 is a popular theme. Pop culture and local features are also popular themes. Kirsten is a founding member of the Norske Filtmakere group. I really enjoyed meeting Kirsten and hope to see her again!
