Me too. SWMBO is after me to finish a quilt hanger and today, after
hours of effort, I managed to uncover my bench. I counted 3 block
planes, a half dozen chisels, various rags, buffing compound, several
saw nuts, parts to a #4, ScarySharp supplies, screwdrivers, a pile of
center spur bits, and some stuff I have been missing for weeks. I
found a rosewood and brass t-bevel gage I don't even remember buying.
I did a count on the Shelf O' Planes and realized that I'm up to ten
#4's or equivalents (counting my M-F #9's). [There's more than that
now]
The Shelf O' Planes is starting to sag a bit and it looks like I
better add some more bracing to it. [need to do it again]   >Does >anyone know of a cure for tool-hunting addiction ? I'm up to 5. I want to take Mike Dunbar's course sometime in 1998 and I'm stocking up ;-) [never made it] Somebody come down here and slap some sense into
me with a rusty Shelton. [no one ever did] The second knife was a
Witherby which I got for a real good price and is cleaning up nicely. [excellent drawknife which is now in my toolchest] SWMBO caught me
lapping the back and gave me what for. Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to
finish the quilt hanger _before_ I hit the flea market. [got
sidetracked - never finished it but we don't have the quilt anymore]
Oh yeah, On Friday I distinctly heard Steve Reynolds mutter the words, "What am I gonna do with another block plane" just before he bought an old Sargent for $3. [he's got a whole drawer full of block planes now] He also
scored a very nice 12" M-F brace for $3. Ahem. I believe that's more
than one brace isn't it Steve? Got more than a few block planes now,
dontcha? Who's the _collector_ now? Heh, heh, heh.
