"There were 75 contestants in the F.I.S. Zermatt. I was 13th in Downhill and Bob Blatt was 14th. Rominger on the Swiss team won the Downhill. The slalom was run on a hill that came down to the main street in the center of town. The Swiss Army foot packed the slalom course every day. They were camped right at the bottom of the run. Karl Molitor (Swiss)(Boots) fell in the Downhill and raced last 75 in the Slalom. He won the Slalom and was carried on the shoulders of the Swiss for at least an hour up and down Main St. Karl was a friend of Bob Blatt's and Karl, Bob and I celebrated that night. I finished 9th Combined and Bob 10th. James Couta of France won Combined." Leon Goodman, 2002.
