It might not be "science" but it is certainly "vetenskap" or
"Wissenschaft".
English appears to reserve the word "science" for the physical/natural
sciences and doesn't have a proper word for scientific endeavors in other
branches of "learning" or "scholarship", those two words serving the
language as crutches.
