Re: [Rollei] Re: 58mm wide on a Koni

LOL. That is a good one.
Also in response to RJ, the Rapid Omega (rangefinder) is a true
bargain. There were several models. The Koni Omega (original) used
different backs but the lenses were compatible with later models. At
this time the cameras were made by Konica in Japan and lenses had the
name Hexanon. Later when ownership of the factory was transferred to
Mamiyam the lens names were changed from Hexanon to Omegon. Same
design, different names, and later updated shutters.
Rapid Omega (models 100 and 200) were the names used in North America,
but Press (1 and 2) was the name used outside NA as Omega watch had
the trademark.
The standard lens is a modified tessar. The 135mm was only made for 2
years and is an incredibly sharp lens (tele-Planar with some
modifications) but for a head and shoulders portrait. This is the
hardest lens to find.
The Omegaflex was a TL camera that Berkey Marketing thought would sell
due to the popularity of the Rollei and other TLRs at this time
(around 1970).
