OSX Tiger - Problems (Bleeding Edge)
What's the status on Tiger from you
bleeding edge guys using it now? Is it safe to dive in?
Any straggler drivers/apps/hardware still
not playing nice?I'm not touching that
puppy till it's housebroken.among the
complaints I'm seeing on tech support forums and lists
are:deserializing Macromedia & Adobe
'bundles' including MX and CS suites.failure
to print to a wide variety of printersrandom,
unpredictable networking difficultiesloss of
compatibility with installed fonts and font management
softwareAs always, it's inconclusive
whether or not there were other factors at work on those systems, and most of
the folks I know who are cautious and maintain good backups, installed after
running maintenance to ensure their systems were healthy. Those folks are saying
they are doing well, but those same folks are also not in deadline-driven, high
disk-intensive production
environments.Probably my biggest red
flag - Diskwarrior and TechTool Pro have both released updates, but the jury is
still out on whether they are full compatible. My bottom line for updates is if
I can't trust my repair tools, I can't afford to break production
machines.but... then, I'm just some
chick on a mailing list....--

G41 Had to remove anything to do with
Unsanity Haxies and APE Enhancer2 Did a
normal upgrade but the machine was crashing so much that I then had to do an
Archive and install.3 This then meant I
lost all my printers and I had to
re-install.4 OmniOutliner version 2.x
had to be upgraded to get it
working.5 The Tigger complaint
QuickSilver does work but is now missing the one command I use the most which is
"Launch anther
copy"5 Finally Retrospect's update
hasn't completely solved the problems with Tigger and so I can only back up my
Project files and not the actual System folder or my Home directory
