Import - Poser into Strata
Jean's recomendations read on...
Poser figures should be all nicely UV Mapped. I
would think you would want
to retain that
mapping in Strata, so your figures could have clothes,
and
eyebrows, and fingernails,
etc.
When you import an OBJ with UV
maps but convert it to polymesh in
Strata,
you throw your UV mapping away. So
you lose all your nice texture
coordinate
data, never to regain
it.
To get your poser model into Strata
without losing the mapping data, you can
use
the VRML format, Strata will be very happy with it just as it comes.
Or
you could use UVMapper to open and rewrite
the OBJ file. The OBJ file
UVMapper writes
will be a very clean file, which Strata will read
and
display much more quickly than the
dubious OBJ which Poser writes.
If you
have, and need to retain, UV data in Strata, NEVER convert an OBJ
or
FBX to polymesh. I won't go so far as to
say this is a bug in Strata, maybe
just a
feature that's not there yet. ;)
