Rides for 2006

Our meeting on Tuesday night came up with a good programme of rides to keep
you pedalling over the summer.

Where there is a nominated person, it is expected that this person will be
in charge of organising the ride including the route, etc. If they become
unavailable, they will be expected to find a substitute and provide them
with the necessary information, e.g. maps and stuff. We want to avoid rides
not happening because there is no-one to lead, especially if there are folks
wanting to come along.

Sunday 7/6- *no plans*
May 13/14- Corrieyairick Pass- Fort Augustus to Laggan and back (Richard

As you can see the diary has been pretty filled. There are a couple of
blanks but plenty suggestions of other rides including:
Stirling/ Ochils
Mount Keen
Fungle Road
Drumlanrig area (either incorporating Rik's uplift or the WMB route)
Drumlanrig trails
Glen Tilt -Stu may be doing this on Monday 1st

If anybody can fill in the blanks, post up and we'll put it in the diary.

If there's nothing there that you fancy- suggest an alternative. It's your
club but by the same token it's up to you to fill the programme.

We also discussed the Wednesday night situation. With the closure of the Hub
on all but the first Wednesday of the month, alternatives were suggested.
If you don't want to ride at GT we suggest:
17 May- Pentlands (Dougie) 6.30 start
14 June- Cardrona/ Peebles Ridge (Laurence)
21 June- Carlops Leg Warmer (Fi D) Very easy ride in lovely scenery (If the
weather gods are smiling) with a bonus start and finish at the pub in
Carlops!
19 July- Cloish (Laurence)

We still plan to go to Innerleithen on the last Wednesday of the month.

Other suggestions are Beecraigs and Devilla/ Blairadam but we may need
guides or some reconnaissance beforehand.

For those of us who also have a tendency towards the dark side of road
racing there is the Kirky 10 mile time trial series every Wednesday from 3
May until 30 August. Sign on from 6.30pm at the Kirkliston Sports Centre,
start 7pm. Cost £1 with spot Prizes . Strictly ERC members only- proof of
membership will be required.

If there are no issues, Les can you put this in the diary.
