discover old pictures of me I've never seen before with people who loved me very
much. But I was to young to remember!

My Aunt Dorothy from Marville Tennessee is soooo sweet!
This afternoon I talked to my fathers sister
in Maryville Tennessee. She told me stories about my mother and father. It's so
nice to have talked with her. She reminded me of Sally Fields in the movie Norma
Rae. She is 80 years old and tough as nails. She had six children and many
grandchildren. In case you haven't been following, my mom and dad were divorced
when I was two and all mom's relatives had died young. It was just me and
her.
I was raised as an only child and haven't seen or talked to any relatives for over 50 years. A few months ago I found my half brother's Jerry phone number back in Davenport, Iowa and called him. That was the beginning of discovering a huge wonderful family. Since dad married 5 times I have found that I have many brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles and more. Everyweek I get new pictures and talk with a new relative. Wow, what an adventure! I get to discover family! One moment no relatives to the next moment full of family! I love it!

Pictures of me when I was little, that I have never seen before!
Thanks Julie! My newly discovered sister. I must
say that these picture made me cry. I don't remember anything about taking these
pictures or my (our) dad being there. I think we were all soooo cute and loved
very much by Grandma, Grandpa and Dad. These picture comfort me and let the sad
little girl I was know it's okay now.
It wasn't till I talked to Judie that I realized
that after mom and dad were divorced that my mom took out a restraining order
against grandma, grandpa and dad. I remember her saying they were trying to
kidnap me. That's why everyone stopped coming around. Divorce and all the
craziness that goes with it can hurt. Can hurt children! Who's fault was it,
Moms, Dads, Grandparents, mine, yours, who really knows and who cares now? At 56
I think the lesson that I have learned is, that hurting when you are a child is
somehow passed on one way or another. Creativity is the ability to bring
something new into existence, by seeing things in a new way. Something new has
happened to me and I hope to change the way I see the pass into more of the
truth. We can know parts of the truth about our past but it is unlikely that we
will know all of it. I just know that in the last few months since I have
discovered you my sisters and brothers my life is better. I feel more loved and
having you in my life I have you to love back. This is going to be a good
Thanksgiving!

Look at these cute relatives of mine! Lindsey and Grant!
What till you see Lindsey's drawings! She is
sooooo talented. She's going to be some awesome, famous artist soon! She is such
a delight! Grant and I are going to build a huge amusement park on the computer
some day. He makes funny faces! Are they adorable or what? I Love You

This is Julie one of the sisters. When I hard about you, I have been praying someday we will find you. I have pictures of you, not many. I got them from Mary. I will try to send some pictures email. I heard you live in California, boy I which I knew that when I lived there back in the 60's and 70's. Our brother Herb still lives there. He lives in Monrovia near pasadena. I am Married and live in Decatur, Ill. I have 3 sons and a daughter-in-law. Their names are Alan, Josh, & Jonathan and Josh's wife is Staci. I will get some pic sent. I have a little trouble with sending, I will get my husband to help. Well have to go know. Write soon can't wait to hear from you."

My Lost Family for 50 Years Unite!
A simple phone call and I found out that I had a
huge family after living a life of as an only child.
50 years, wow, has it really been that long. What
happened? How'd I get so old? 56 now hair gray, overweight. Is that me in the
mirror? The word life is short suddenly means more
today.
It's time to make that call to see if I can try to reconnect to my Iowa family. I found my brothers phone number on the Internet (White Pages) and left him a message. He called back and said Freida, "Where have you been?" Judie has even been on TV looking for you. She was on the Maury Povitch show looking for all missing brothers and sisters and found them all but you. I'm so glad you called". I must say that his kindness overwhelmed me. He called my sister Mary and she called Judie. Judie was so happy to hear from me too. I like Judie! She is tough like me! he-he We have a lot in common. I'll talk about her has time goes by. Here's a little history:
My mother and father were divorced when I was about 2 years old. I never had much contact with my fathers side of the family. My mothers side of the family had mostly died early. Grandparents on my mother side were entrepreneurs back in Davenport, Iowa. They left my mom a little money and that's how we survived. I was the only child between my mom (Emma) and dad (Herbert). Some day I find out more info about my mother's side of the family.
My father's side of the family is huge. He married 5 times and had lots of kids. My mom was the second wife. I was named after my grandmother Freida. So I find now I have lots of half sisters and brothers. I remember 3 of them a little and never new some of them existed. I found out that my father had brothers and sisters.
My (I mean our) father died when I was about 13. Then we really lost contact. My mother and I moved to California in 1964 when I was about 16 and after that lost contact.
And then life goes on. Oh, every once in a while I'd think about my sister Judie, Mary and Jerry but I figured they probably didn't know of me or even remember me since I was around 7 or 8 the last time I saw them. I remember my Grandma Freida as a sweet woman who's words to me are so clear. "I love you Freida." I found out she died about 5 years ago. See, now I will never get to know her. Waiting. Why did I wait so long? hmmmm I don't know.
Although I tried in around 1973 to make contact it didn't work out so I just dropped the whole idea. But now I have a lot of catching up to do!
I love you Judie for trying so hard all these years to find me and keeping the photos of me when I was little! And you Jerry for giving me a very sweet welcome back into the family. What a great video you took of Davenport and you singing. I think your great and look forward to meeting you and chatting with you again soon.
