Position: Art Director, Designer/Illustrator
Fred’s quest for creative excellence is reflected in his ability to produce innovative and eye-catching concepts that achieve a wide range of marketing objectives. His keen sense of humor and sharp wit also contribute to establishing great client rapport. Fred has won a gold ATHENA award from the Newspaper Association of America, and 5 design awards from the prestigious Employment Management Association. Fred’s talents have garnered results for a broad range of clients, with particular emphasis in the healthcare, financial, and defense-related industries. Fred’s education, experience and passion for executing brilliant concepts enable him to be an equal opportunity problem-solver. With the advent of web-based multimedia content, particularly video and Flash animation, he is truly able to bring his talents into the spotlight. Fred’s proficiency in Mac-based applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Final Cut, and InDesign allows him to take his creative vision and apply it to any medium or marketing challenge. Fred’s first job was as a designer with Media Plus (now known as Media Village), an international design and education outreach program. As a part of Media Plus, Fred took creative assignments in New Zealand, Hawaii, Switzerland, and Germany. He subsequently worked as a freelancer before landing a position with Nationwide Advertising Service in December of 1997. Fred’s first position with NAS involved the design and layout of newspaper ads. These days, Fred still works on print layouts, but spends most of his time creating and editing animation video and audio content for one of his signature creative pieces. Fred’s innovative design perspective was honed at the multi-cultural University of the Nations in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, where he graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Graphic Design.
