PROGRAM

Mother Divine Mother

May is Mother’s Day month! The Candlelight Reading Series presents Mother Divine Mother, a tribute to The Mother with songs, stories, anecdotes and poems honoring motherhood on Friday, May 11, 8 PM at Revelations in the piano room. This event of sharing will have a festive character, celebrating all our moms. There will be tea, cookies, flowers and candlelight. Love donation $2.

On the program are portions from the Thousand Names of Mother Divine recited by Patricia Kirti Wood, accompanied on tampura by Mousumi Dey, as well as Welsh, Irish, Italian, German & Indian songs sung by Pamela Vaughan, Magda Georgio, Mousumi Dey, sopranos, and Freddy Niagara Fonseca, tenor with accompaniment by pianists Mahima Lise Marcell and Patricia Saunders with Nathanael Zumstein on viola obligato.

You'll also hear poetry about motherhood from various countries read by Karen Carter, eurythmist, Freddy, Jewel McDonald, Megan Robinson, and Ingrid Saterstrom and some fun, touching stories about our mothers, as well as the winners of the poetry and short story contest for Fairfield poets and writers.

Everyone is invited to bring a xerox copy of a favorite photo of their mother. We’ll have them all on a display, smiling to us from wherever they are now. Please come on time and enjoy!

As to the poetry and story contest in the works: all Fairfield writers are invited to send in ONE original poem or story — not more than one page long — about either your own mother, the heavenly mother, motherhood, or all mothers). If you win in either category, you’ll be invited to come recite your entry at the reading. Send to freddypoetry@mac.com by May 9th, midnight.
