Food and poetry? Do they mix? Yes, everything is possible in the Candlelight Reading Series, a monthly staple on the Fairfield cultural scene! Come, stop by for the yearly poetry social, “The Food of Poetry” on Saturday, November 18, 8 PM, 2006 at Revelations Bookstore & Cafe in the big meeting room upstairs, 112 N Main, Fairfield, Iowa.
Freddy Niagara Fonseca and Karen Carter will host this sumptuous event with scrumptious poetry about food in an animated atmosphere. Formal attire is encouraged but not mandatory.
After every four, five poems, you will be regaled on smashingly delicious finger foods such as sushi, cream puffs, mini-scones, slice of Revelations pizza, and quiche with beverages until you’re totally stuffed with poetry and culture.
Admission is $4 RSVP, or $6 at the door. Please register early so we get an idea how much to prepare.
In addition to this, there will be a food poetry contest for Fairfield writers. Send in ONE original poem about food by November 14 to freddypoetry@mac.com and if you win, you’ll be invited to come recite your poem at the event.
