Open House - New Student Welcome08/17/08 Our first Sunday "supper club" is an Open House. There'll be lots of free food and people to meet. If you want you can stick around or come back for a quiet night of prayers in the chapel with Evensong at 8:00pm.
Feast of St. Mary, the Virgin (tr.): Opening Convocation
08/20/08 Our first Wednesday Eucharist of Fall Semester is always a special occasion. Worship begins at 5:00pm in the Chapel of St. Mary, the Virgin. We'll have a guest preacher and/or a guest celebrant. Dinner on the lawn following the service.
Georgia Southern ECM Weekend
08/29/08 - 08/31/08 Our fellow Episcopalians from Statesboro will join us for the weekend. We'll tailgate together, attend the game, and just maybe not sleep too late so we can worship together Sunday morning.
“Last Chance” Seersucker and White Linen on the Lawn NEW DATE!!!
09/01/08 Our first social of Fall Semester. We'll play croquet on the lawn and fill ourselves with cucumber sandwiches and lime punch. "Punch is served" immediately following the group photo at 7:00pm.
Inquirers' Classes / Confirmation Preparation
Late August through September. Quick and dirty lessons for anyone who wants to prepare for confirmation, reception, or reaffirmation at the Bishop's vivitation. Beginning the last Tuesday night in August and continuing through all the Tuesday nights in September.
Bible Study Groups Begin
08/29/08 This is Not Your Daddy's Bible Study! We'll use the Lambeth/African Study Method to accomodate whatever number of interested folks attend each night. As the group grows we'll subdivide. Other nights may be scheduled as needed.
Feast of St. Francis of Assisi - Blessing of the Beasts
10/08/08 Join us for this annual celebration. If you have a pet you can transport to the Chapel then bring them along for this special liturgy which begins at 5:00pm. Our worship will conclude with Holy Eucharist. Following we will enjoy a meal in the center including doggie treats and pet munchables.

Bishop's Visitation
10/29/08 Our Wednesday service becomes the occasion for baptism and confirmation as Bishop J.Neil Alexander joins us to preach and celebrate.
Province IV Fall College Conference
11/01/08 - 11/02/08 A Bunch of us are headed to Alabama's Camp McDowell for the 33rd annual gathering of Episcopal Campus Ministries in the Southeast. More info here.
Sabbath Space: A Labyrinth for Meditation, Prayer and Reflection
11/04/08 - 11/06/08 We will reserve Reception Hall in Tate Student Center's ground floor for three days so that anyone can use our very own Labyrinth for meditation, prayer or reflection. The room will be monitored in the evenings for assistance and safety. Our Labyrinth is painted on a 40' x 40' canvas in the pattern of Chartres Cathedral.
Words and Prayers Remembering Kristallnacht

Diocese of Atlanta - Annual Council Check the video, it's GREAT!
11/14/08 -11/15/08 frDann, delegate Emily Baggett, alternate Sarah Ewbank and a host of others* will represent the Episcopal Center @ UGA as the Diocese of Atlanta meets in its Annual Council. This year's episode is being held at the Holiday Inn in downtown Decatur.

11/15/08 Join us with your favorite chili recipe and an article of clothing to donate to the Potter's House. 5:30pm at the Episcopal Center. Prizes for the best recipe and best name.
Fall Retreat - Honey Creek DATE CHANGE!!!
11/21/08 - 11/23/08 A weekend of prayer and relaxation. Bring $$ for putt-putt and tandem bike rental at Jekyll Island. $50 deposit deadline is October 30, 2008.
A Service of Advent Lessons and Carols
12/7/08 Hosted by the Episcopal Center and held in St. Mary's Chapel this candlelight service is a wonderful seasonal offering shared with our friends from the Presbyterian (PCUSA), Lutheran (ECLA) and Christian (DOC) student ministries. Dinner will be served at the Presbyterian Student Center 1250 S. Lumpkin St. at 6:15pm. Start there and walk down the street for worship at 7:30pm. Download a flyer here.

Diocese of Georgia Annual Convention
02/05/09 - 02/07/09 We will attend the annual convention of the Diocese of Georgia in Albany. The host hotel(TBA) is next to where we'll meet so we'll be staying there or in the homes of students with families nearby. In the past we've been allowed to register a few with seat and voice at the meeting and we've maintained a booth in the exhibit hall as well. The more, the merrier!

03/03/09 - 04/07/09 Inquiring and Discerning Hearts, II: Instruction and formation for membership in the Episcopal Church is scheduled for Lent 2009. Baccalaureate
04/22/09 Our last BIG Wednesday before Reading Day, April 22 is the context for recognizing our graduates. The procession will begin at 5:00pm. Following the service there will be a reception on the lawn.
