Jeff Allam became a hero at Brands Hatch on Sunday. The curly haired 23-year-old had never won a Tricentrol British Saloon Car Championship round before; yet in the 20-lap race that proceeded the Grand Prix he put in an absolute blinder of a performance. Shattering the lap record on the way, Jeff quite simply out- drove the best saloon drivers in Britain to take a flag to flag victory in the most hotly contested, most prestigious Tricentrol round of all. All year he had shown great promise; on Sunday he fulfilled it. Further down the field, Tony Dron, Richard Lloyd and Richard Longman took their customary class wins and fastest laps to keep the championship positions much as before. |
