Vallelunga had a surprise in store; not another BMW victory - no, Alfa Romeo took advantage of Luigi troubles. First, the De Fierlant/Dewael/Grano car suffered cooling problems; the other car, of Xhenceval/Dieudonné/Finotto, had to stop in the pits repeatedly for its engine was losing power. A double Alfetta victory therefore, the GTV of Ghislotti/Fornera/Franz took the last podium position in front of the first Luigi car.
