Class C-D
Lloyd exercised brilliant throttle control and restraint, taking a clean start and letting the big Chevy out-torque smaller rivals. The Simoniz polish has certainly spread over for PR-man Lloyd. Richard showed all his old Spitfire wet weather form in staying on, and ahead, while pressed by Graham. The two Camaros just sped away from the field, a white-red-greeny black freight train of unchallenged rule.
Initially Fall had slotted into second place into Gerrads, but as Graham swept by onto the straight, he was left to resist the advances of Spice, Blackburn, Woodman, Lanfranchi, Macmillan Racing's John Olding (5.7 Camaro), Rolt, Malcolm West's Camaro and Malcolm Wayne's Camaro.
Fall's good start was wasted when the oil and water craved each other's company as the head gasket failed: he finally retired on lap 10 after dropping away from the leaders on the fourth lap.
Spice then had to cope with Blackburn until the seventh tour, when the Hermetite Capri had a moment and fell temporarily behind Woodman's Camaro. Blackburn was attacking again by lap 15 - but Spice held him off for third overall and first in class even though the Capri II was misfiring with a damaged camshaft in the ex-Adlards V6 from lap 4 onward.
Well spread out, and just urging their often water-logged machinery to valuable finishing points were the remaining heavy metal brigade, with Woodman fifth, Lanfranchi sixth, Olding seventh, West eighth and Wayne completing the finishers: Rolt spun the ex-works Capri off after 13 laps while eighth. Not a great race, but one that'll be remembered for another courageous Lloyd-Graham duel.

Class A-B
Another wet one-marque 1-2, the second saloon thrash featured some good dices and a few disappointed faces with car faults left over from '74. Pole position and a clear race winner came from the Team Piranha Broadspeed Triumph Dolomite Sprint of Andy Rouse. After an uncharacteristic bout of engine unreliability the Avengers ceded the smallest class to the Samurai Toyota Celica of Win Percy.
