The sixth round of the Wiggins Teape Paperchase '72 offered the now usual high standards of car preparation and a fair quota of drama was enacted during the 20 laps of the full circuit. Frank Gardner rumbled the SCA late model Chevrolet Camaro to a firm win on 5.7 litres of Alan Smith power after Brian Muir led the initial 16 laps, and sliced 0.7s off the overall Group 2 record before the beautiful blue Capri spun to rest on its own oil. |
