The small class was won by Abt in front of Faraoni; 4th an 5th were the works Skoda’s with their new 8-port crossflow cylinder head - they were faster than all Mini’s and could keep up with most of the Abarths. The second race became another victory for Hezemans and Autodelta; the BMW opposition ran into troubles. Huber retired early with a broken valve rocker, and within half an hour Herzog, leading division 2, rolled his car. Soler-Roig had engine troubles and retired in the end. The last Alpina car, of Marko, was fourth and in the lead of division 2 now; but 20 minutes before the end, he too retired. The works Capris had their share of problems too, with Mohr retiring because of suspension troubles. But Hezemans did not only win because of the problems of others - he claimed fastest lap as well. Glemser was second, followed by a trio of Alfa Romeos. Division 2 was won by Henne in his private BMW, after a dice with Truci. |
