The seventh race of the cup brought us back to the place where it all began: the Nürburgring. BMW had dropped back from the fight (but it would return next year with a car more suited to racing) but the fight between Alfa Romeo and Porsche - albeit in different classes - was entertaining as usual. Four Alfa teams were up against seven Porsches, in the 1300 cc class there were two Lancia’s, two very fast Mini Coopers, a works Glas and a few Alfa Romeo Juniors. The 1000 cc class had a large number of Abarths as usual, the new NSU TTS was not quite competitive now. |
