This time, the 1000 cc championship cars were combined with bigger cars - but in any case, the leading 1000’s could be found at the front row of the grid.
Baillie in the 3.8 Jaguar was away first, followed by Shepherd and Young, who were passed by another Jaguar soon. Still, they finished third and fourth overall, ahead of the 1600 cc leaders. Pilsworth (Riley 1.5) became a victim of the little cars, when he left the road during a fight with the A35’s of Whitaker and Aley.
