... and the're away!
The bunch jostle for position into the chicane at the end of lap 2. Weaver/Thackwell. BTCC regular James Weaver was partnered by Mike Thackwell for this race.
Drovandi/Cremer/Pirenne. Drovandi spins after contact with a VW Golf.
Pond/Schlesser. Another outing for British rallyman Pond in the works Rover. Kelleners/Brancatelli. The winners splashed through the rain to win.
But the coulds thickened and it became dark... This BMW trails catch fencing as a result of being the first spinner in the downpour that left six wrecks at Woodcote corner.
And then... mayhem at Woodcote...
From a different angle. Only four cars are parked in the wall at the moment (!), and the car on fire is that of Williams. The Voitch/Enge BMW is just coming into view backwards, but he managed to stay out of the wall.
