The first season of a new championship: exciting races, seven different car types won races and the fields grew up to 40 cars.
Negative was the points system; points were awarded up to the 18th finisher, in the format 20-18-16-15 etc. A win was cool but little else; champion became Strycek who to the horror of the organisers did not win a single race.
