Rigul school, August 2007
In early 2007, the new school buildings were completed. The
school now comprises three classrooms, one room for the
headmaster, one kitchen and one storage room.
In the summer of 2007, works started for a building to
house some of the teachers.
Since 2006, two free meals are offered daily to the school
children and staff. It is of great help for many kids
especially for those having to walk for an hour or more to
reach the school.
The plans for the Rigul School were initially discussed
around 2002, the same time as the health clinic. However,
due to a number of obstacles, the building of the school
and the funding needed did not come to fruition until 2005.
We have been very fortunate to have received generous
donations from the UK and Belgium that have helped us begin
building a purpose type building for educating the children
of Rigul and surrounding areas.
