Mark Walsh's piece is a wonderful march he wrote, for creatures such as the one displayed. And he created and drew the creature, as well as writing and performing the music. Talented fellow, isn't he? Below are a couple of pieces of music I composed in GarageBand, as well as samples from before and after running a digitized version of the Turtles song "Happy Together" through SoundTrack Pro. Unfortunately you can no longer buy SoundTrack Pro as a stand-alone application. Looking for alternatives, I found ClickRepair which does one thing, and does it very well and in a matter of seconds. You can hear just how well by comparing a before and after sample of a badly damaged Tim Buckley track, "Morning Glory".

The lead song, Logan English singing The Dewy Dens of Yarrow was one of the first I went to work on using SoundTrack Pro to fix and spiff it up some. The vinyl album the song is on has been one of my very favorite albums, ever. I bought it way back when it first came out in 1962. In researching the album on the internet I unhappily discovered that English has indeed died, but more happily discovered that the Smithsonian had gotten all of the Folkways catalog of music, and so his albums can still be purchased. Thus I recently got a copy of "Kentucky Folksongs and Ballads", 45 years after buying the first album. By the way, that Monitor album I bought way back when is also available from the Smithsonian.

The Hedy West song, Fragments, is one of my more recent forays into fixing old vinyl. That album too was purchased when it first came out in 1963. I digitized it awhile back, and discovered that it was mono, and my digital version was a victim of line hum. In trying to fix things I may have over-done it all a bit. Unfortunately I found out that West had died of cancer in 2005. But although her music had been almost impossible to find for a long time, I'm glad to see that it is now available in re-issue from a variety of sources, including the iTunes Store.

Bryn Terfel singing the Welsh national anthem, and Peter Rowan and Tony Rice performing some contemporary bluegrass are here just for fun.
