Roma: Constantine and the Pantheon

foot
Myself and my friend Ken Kauppi in Rome at the Capitoline Museum where different large stone parts of the Emperor Constantine are variously mounted on pedestals or lying about. My first trip to Rome, Easter of 1994.
hand
My goal is to be photographed every time I get back to Rome with a different body part until such time as I have a complete photographic record of all of Constantine that is extant. My second trip, made in the Spring of 1996.
head
October of 1997, here we have two body parts: the head and an elbow. We couldn't get any closer as they were doing some restoration and had barriers to protect the tourists.
caesar
Caesar's stature was put up in the 1930s by Mussolini, who had a thing about the Grandeur That Was Rome. His attempt to recapture it did not turn out well. I took this photo with Georgia's camera in 1997.
pantheon
Our own noble leader and old friend Peter Hodson and myself in front of the Pantheon in Rome, 1996. This was where we gathered every day to begin our treks around the city. We walked. Rich people could take a carriage ride.
pantheon
The view from our room at the Arenula hotel in Rome in 1996. You could watch the bats fly out at sunset. I don't think the bells actually worked anymore, but despite the bats I liked it and did a drawing of the view while I was there.
