Re-opening Celebration a hit!

Origami cranes and children's storytime captivated many, while others played board games, talked and enjoyed the ambience of our wonderful new library.

Mayor Steyskal delivered a delightful fable about the library, When The Darkness Came to Talent, to rousing applause. Click here to read and enjoy it again.

The celebration marked the extension of Talent's library hours from 16 to 36 hours per week -- and our first Saturday hours in thirty years.

LIBRARY UPDATE   July 2008

The Friday Movie

The Friends sponsor a weekly movie show Friday evenings at 6 pm.

During the summer we will alternate with the City of Talent's Friday Evening in the Park program.

Starting July 11, expect either a Park program outside or a movie in the Library each Friday evening, all summer long.

Library movie dates are July 18, August 8, and August 22. Call or visit the Talent Library (535-4163) to learn the titles of these Family-rated movies.

Kids Hour @ the Library

Our successful AfterSchool Storytime & Snacks program continues this summer as Kids Hour @ the Library - with stories, movies, crafts, and activities for 5-10 year olds.

A wholesome snack is served in the Community Meeting Room, followed by a program that rotates on a weekly basis.

Every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.

July 16 will be a G-rated animated movie staring three loveable dogs. On movie days the program runs until 5 pm.

Scrabble on Saturday afternoons

Join your friends and neighbors for a friendly game of Scrabble®.

The fun runs each Saturday from 2 to 4 pm in our Library's Community Meeting Room.

Bring your board and a dictionary. We hope to see you there!

Our current priorities are to keep our County library system open -- and to support and expand the programs and activities available at the Talent Library.

Monthly meetings are open to all. Bring your ideas and energy. We guarantee you a warm reception.

Meetings are held at in the Community Meeting Room of the Talent Library on the fourth Friday of each month at 10:00 am. For further information contact Betty Smith at 535-4246.
