Hospitals Double Their Use of CAM


Since 1998 according to a new survey hospitals in the US have doubled their usage of Cam services.

The number of hospitals offering complementary and alternative therapies has doubled from 7.9% in 1998 to 16.6% in 2002 according to a newly released survey by the American Hospital Association's Health Forum.

Two of the top reasons were patient demand and attracting new patients. It accessed the availability of 16 CAM services including Findings From the 2003 Complementary and Alternative Medicine Survey of Hospitals.

The survey assessed the availability of 16 CAM services including reflexology.
