Sun - February 19, 2006Feeling refreshedIt had taken a while but I am starting to feel a
bit better, my back seems to be settling down and I have my first appointment
with the physiotherapist on Tuesday. I think I am slowly starting to get back on
track with things and I am feeling a lot less stressed.
My mum and dad are coming down to see me on Tuesday and are staying for a few days so I am really looking forward to that, I am also really looking forward to getting my new Macbook pro so look out for flurokitty.com to become an all singing all dancing website in the near future. I hope to include lots more pictures and I might even get round to doing a video type podcast thing since it comes with isight built in. I have also updated my DVD section which had not been done in a while so there are quite a lot of new titles in the list. Last year was a very tough year and I didn't really enjoy it at all, so I have decided this year is going to be way better. It has certainly started well I have had a lovely, much needed break over the festive period and feel almost on the road to recovery. Santa has been very good to me and I got some lovely gifts for Christmas and my new years resolutions seem to be mostly geared towards self development and healing my mind and body. I am going to give pilates a try and hopefully and seeing the balance specialist and physiotherapist in February. I also intend to take a dance class and properly learn a language. We have the Michel Thomas French pack so that seems like the logical choice but my heart always veers towards Japanese so we shall have to see how I do. I took a pretty picture of my window lights
and this is how reggie decided to spend the entire break

promised myself. We have done all of the christmas shopping and it is even all
wrapped up which I am very thankful for because I feel like I am on the verge of
a nervous breakdown.
My back went out again 2 weeks ago and the pain is like nothing else on this earth. Apparently my problem is my Psoas Major muscle which is the red one in this picture. ![]() It keeps going into spasm and messing up my back and legs. It is very frustrating because when it goes I can't move and it pulls on everything else which makes my whole body seem sore. I have invested in a machine called the Backlife which seems to be helping quite a lot in the pain reduction but the fear of it going again is the thing that is holding me back. On a brighter note Al Murray was very very funny and I am so pleased we went to see him, I love stand up comedy and I am going to make an effort to go and see more shows this year. We have Faithless on Tuesday which I am looking forward too as long as my back holds out. I have been trying to meditate a little more recently and it had been quite tough to get back into but it did make me sort out the healing room which is great because I always feel better when that room is clear I think it is important to have a space that you can go to when you need to relax, and I have needed it more than ever these past few weeks. And with that I am actually going to go and use it right now. Posted at 12:55 PM Read More Fri - November 4, 2005Hectic timesIt has been a bit of a busy time of late, I feel
like I have had too much on and my meniere's has flared up a little bit. Our
birthday week off was lovely but it was touched with sadness, my mothers best
friend died suddenly and it shocked us all. This meant that last week I went
back to Scotland for the funeral and spent the night with my parents. It was as
always lovely to see them but I just wished the circumstances had been happier,
Heather was an amazing woman and it's very hard to think of someone so full of
life as not being there anymore.
We did have a great week off though and got treated endlessly thought, we were taken out for some lovely meals one being at the Salt Yard it was great to get everyone together and I would like to do it more often. We have some stuff to look forward too over the next couple of months, this month we are going to see Al Murray in his latest stand up show ....and another thing! and next month we are going to see Faithless live at Brixton Academy. I have wanted to see Faithless live for ages and I am so looking forward to this concert, I will tell you all about it once I have been. I think thats all I have to tell you for now but I am sure I will think of some more things later. cake with the prince from Katamari Damacy on it. Looks like this Katamari is
very marzipanish, we best eat it quick before he rolls up the rest of the
candles and moves on to the silverware!

seem to have attracted this year. Normally we only get starlings but these wee
blue tits are very very cute. Videos coming soon.

for small vinyl models. Dunny and Qee seem to be my favourite, I found a very
good site by an avid Qee collector an a nice site that showcases the
work of artists tasked to design a Dunny .
I might have to buy myself some of these, or if you are feeling generous then you know what to get me for my birthday/christmas. Posted at 10:26 AM Read More Mon - September 26, 2005The nights are drawing in.Which is a good thing for me because it means I
get to light lots of candles and snuggle up. Not much happening at the moment
but we have some time off in October and we should be doing some stuff then. I
really want to go to Longleat because I have never been to a safari
park. Growing up my family didn't drive so no car meant no safari parks,
Longleat also have a butterfly house which will be
lovey.
I have just started a Last.fm profile so now you can all see what I have been listening too, feel free to add me to your friends if you are a member there too. My tunes can be pretty random sometimes but they will also give you a good insight into how I am feeling. Posted at 05:48 PM Read More Sat - September 17, 2005Fri - September 16, 2005Good morning I just thought I would add a quick post, it looks
like we might be going to Raindance next weekend. I haven't been clubbing
in such a long time because of my health so it would be really good to get out
there again. We have been out walking loads at the moment and it is really good,
I am feeling much stronger again and my back has been much
better.
My first little step into the retail world failed dismally, I was going to be selling Pet Tree's and ipod remotes on ebay. We found a really good company at the NEC and placed an order with them, when the order came nothing was right so we had to send the whole lot back. The good thing is we didn't loose anything but it was a shame none the less. I am getting on quite well with Nintendogs my puppy Barney can now do handstands and backflips, he has also won a good few obedience trails but I need to train him better for the frisbee throwing and the agility. Right and on that note I have to go take care of my real pets, my 2 BiOrbs need serviced today so i have to go and buy some water. Laterz Posted at 09:11 AM Read More Sun - September 11, 2005Happy Birthday G![]() Me on the train on the way looking tired and watching the lightening. ![]() Grant and his Dad ![]() Grant's Mum, his sister Mel and Grant ![]() Blimey all those candles ;) ![]() Cutting the cake We went up to Clapham last night for Grants 30th,
and what a great time I had. I had a long day at work so I really didn't feel
much like partying as I sat on the train on the way up there the thunder storms
all around didn't do much to lighten my mood. Although as soon as I stepped
through the door of Alice's house the day was forgotten. The party was in full
swing and people from far and wide were there to celebrate, Grant's dad even
came all the way down from Scotland (10 hours on a coach) to surprise him which
was a real bonus. The food was amazing and Alice's mum (being from New Zealand)
even managed to get a BBQ going in the
rain!
We had all been asked to bring a 20 minute set of party music we may want to play and I was first up my tracks were - Lift Me Up - Moby I Like The Way - Bodyrockers Jacques Your Body - Les Rythmes Digitales Crescendolls - Daft Punk Nasty Girl - Inaya Day Dare - Gorillaz Everyone said they liked my mix and it kicked off a queue of people wanting to put thier stuff on, all the sets I heard were amazing too. I liked Mel's mix because it had White Lines by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five in it, I can't listen to this song now without thinking of Shaun of the Dead but it's still a top track. The other nice thing they had organized for the party was a magician. Now I thought this was just going to be one of Grant's mates who knew a few tricks but this was a properly hired magician who did a close up magic routine which lasted about 15 minutes, he took people in groups and I have to say I was very impressed. His name was Simon Subvert and i don't know how much he got paid but he was worth every penny! The only sad thing about the night was that we had to leave Just after 11 to catch the last train home but I am sure the rest of them partied into the wee small hours and quite rightly so. Posted at 02:36 PM Read More Fri - September 2, 2005It's September already When did that happen! I think I blinked and
missed summer this year, I have been so unfortunate with my health this year has
really past me by so far but things are really starting to look up. So, the PSP
launched and there were a surprising number of people at our local games shop
and I am pleased for them. I didn't buy any PSP stuff from them that night but I
did pick up Nintendogs for the DS, it is too cute for
words. I am now the proud owner of a King Charles spaniel that answers to
Barney. We have been on lots of walks and he can sit. lie down and roll
over.
Yesterday we got a new game (Fired Up) and some movies (House of Flying Daggers, I,Robot and Transformers) for the PSP and we are chuffed with them all. I can't believe how good the quality of the UMD movies are which means a lot more will be added to my list of wants like OldBoy and Eddie Izzard. Posted at 10:43 PM Read More Wed - August 31, 2005PSP's and DVD's Well the PSP finally launches in the UK in about
2 hours so I am just waiting up to go have a trundle round the shops to see if
we can't buy anything new. I have also updated the DVD madness list so we now
have a complete list on there finally.
Posted at 10:03 PM Read More Tue - August 30, 2005A better dayWell today has been a better day! I have the all
clear from the doctors, my kidney infection seems to be going and my back isn't
playing me up quite as much as it was. I need to make a few changes in my life
as I have let my holistic side fade into the background quite a bit and it isn't
doing me any good. So lots more work is needed on my reiki, yoga, crystals and
hopi ear candles.
I saw a great movie over the weekend called Love Me If You Dare , it's a French film about love, addiction and how people use the silliest of things to hide their true feeling or be able to say what they want to say. I also watched Irreversible which was a very rough movie to watch but it was worth it I really don't know how to put it into words but it's not for the faint hearted. Posted at 07:13 PM Read More |
