Summary
This collection gathers a decade's worth of the band's groundbreaking music videos and connects them with random, spontaneous footage of real people talking. These unrehearsed moments share the same quirky feel of David Byrne's film "True Stories," which is also where the videos for "Wild Wild Life" and "Love For Sale" are taken from. Byrne directed several of the videos himself, including "Burning Down The House,""This Must Be The Place" and "Road To Nowhere." Toni Basil (of "Hey Mickey" fame) directed "Crosseyed and Painless" and "Once In A Lifetime," while Jim Jarmusch helmed "The Lady Don't Mind." Animator Jim Blashfield did the remarkable "And She Was." With each hit release, the band offers up a visual compliment that is just as imaginative, just as compelling and just as artful as the music. As the contents of this tape illustrate, the Talking Heads were one of the few groups who were able to consistently use their music videos to actually enhance the feel of the song, rather than just sell it.
