other side

Little paradox (but don't dwell too much on it, there's no point): when you die and your self and consciousness disappear, by definition you are not there, you cannot experience anything at all -no, more than that since there is no you. This is very difficult to grasp and brings in a couple of paradoxes: if you do not exist time has no meaning, a second or the whole of eternity. But the whole of eternity is finite, the universe is. So, you have the paradox: if time has no meaning for you, it cannot be 'unending' , the pass of time cannot mean anything in that circumstance. But that seems to imply it would be infinite: if a second and the whole of eternity are in these terms equivalent, since one or the other won't make any difference, Is there an end to it? Hm. There's an obvious flaw in this but this is not quite exactly how I was formulating this in my mind during some sleepless night. If forever is the same as no time at all... it means there must be an end to it.

Maybe there is no paradox and it all simply stems from my inability to grasp the idea of subjective non-existence. Must chew a little more on that bone and see what comes out.

You can tell I've been in a jolly frame of mind of late....
