"Our Hearts Were Touched With Fire" discusses another hobby: Civil War reenacting. I set the site up in 1999 on the Geocities serve (in the days when "free" websites really were free. I was just learning to use Photoshop at the time, and the page was initially little more than an effort to showcase my skills in graphics and web-page design (I had thoughts of leaving academia and pursuing a career in typesetting and graphic design). When I got back into teaching, the site gradually evolved into a sort of "how to" guide for people seeking to enter the hobby.

We haven't been to a reenactment for a while, and the site is dormant, but I've decided to leave it intact.

My academic website, set up for the benefit of my students at the Community College of Allegheny County.
Fred Jordan Sr., my father, has repaired and restored old books and prints since the mid 1970s. I created this site for his business.
