For all the consistency of the talent flow from affiliated independents, Festival was still actively developing talent in-house. Ininity was still active, carrying acts such as Western Flyer in the late seventies, and was joined in the early eighties by the Parole imprint (established, it is said, so that release sheets, posters and ads could be emblazoned with the heading 'Out On Parole'). Perth group Boys had three charting singles and two charting albums on the fairly short-lived label but its biggest act was the slick synth-pop Venetians, led by Englishman Rik Swinn, who managed nine charting singles between 1983 and 1988, including the top ten So Much For Love.
