Meet the Old Boss

Finally got a change to see the documentary "DALE" last night and I highly recommend it to anyone who is even a fair-weather NASCAR fan. It's being shown only in race markets until it debuts this fall on CMT and then on DVD.

High marks especially go to Steve Byrnes, Ryan McGee and the whole crew who put the film together. Great choices of CCR and Springsteen for the occasional musical interludes and the Paul Newman narration is spot-on.

My only complaints are very minor - and do not reflect the artistic decisions of the filmmakers. It was incredibly irritating and distracting to have the "Simpson" logo on everyone's unform blurred out in every shot. It only causes more attention to be drawn to the Simpson logo. But, if that's my biggest gripe - obviously a demand made by another party involving the controversy surrounding Dale's death - the film earns my two-stubs-up approval.
